Yeonju Lee SOUTH KOREA - GERMANY
Yeonju Jessica Lee started her BA studies in 2009 at the Korea National University of Arts in South Korea specialising in choir conducting and vocal studies under professors Martin Behrmann and Hongsoo Kim. She has graduated from an MA program, majoring in conducting under Professor Frank Löhr and minoring in the piano, cembalo, and vocal studies at The Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, Germany. During her studies, Yeonju Jessica Lee has been working as a choir and orchestra conductor, choir singer, accompanist, and music teacher. In 2018 she has gained experience during the internships at the Bergedorf Chamber Choir, Staatsoper Hannover and Ahrensburg Chamber Orchestra, Germany. In 2019 Yeonju Jessica Lee took part in the masterclass of Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth with Maestro Christian Thielemann. From 2016 to 2019, Yeonju Jessica Lee assisted the concert choir and ensemble choir at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover. Yeonju also has conducted Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Vivier’s Immortalite, Poulenc’s Figure Humaine. For the last few years, she has worked with some opera productions, like Handel’s Semele conducted by Howard Arman, and Paul Hindemith’s Hin und Zurück. Ernst Toch’s Egon und Emilie is her debut in opera production. Yeonju Lee has been a singer in Yesan City Choir for ten years until 2016 and has been a guest singer and conductor of many South Korean choirs. |
