Artūrs Oskars Mitrevics Latvia
Artūrs Oskars Mitrevics (1998) has studied choral conducting in the class of Mārtiņš Klišāns at Riga Cathedral Choir School, gaining his first real-life work experience conducting both the Riga Cathedral Boys Choir and the Mixed Choir. Currently, A. O. Mitrevics is studying symphony orchestra conducting at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music under Professor Andris Vecumnieks. Artūrs Oskars Mitrevics has won the 1st prize at the State Competition for Choir Conductors from Vocational Music Secondary Educational Institutions in 2015, and the 2nd prize at Imants Kokars 2nd International Competition for Young Choir Conductors from Vocational Music Secondary Educational Institutions in 2017. His first musical achievements include the Grand Prix at the international piano competition Concours Musical de France in 2013 and several successful performances at the piano competitions in Latvia. Since 2017, Artūrs Oskars Mitrevics is a conductor of the mixed choir Sōla of the Latvian Academy of Culture. He has also previously worked at St. John’s Church Choir and mixed choirs Dziesmuvara and Burtnieks. Besides choral conducting, A. O. Mitrevics has conducted various youth orchestras – symphony orchestras of Emīls Dārziņš Music School and Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, as well as the orchestra of Raiskums Creative Youth summer camp. In October 2018, Artūrs Oskars Mitrevics conducted chamber ensembles Art-i-Shock and Altera Veritas, being the first to perform contemporary compositions by Gundega Šmite and Dimitris Maronidis. |
