Hayk Tigranyan (1984)
Hayk studied at the Komitas Sate Conservatory of Yerevan, receiving a diploma in oboe playing and also graduating with honours from the Vocal Department, the class of Professor Patrovich.
He has been a principal oboe of the Orchestra of Yakutsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and since 2003 is one of the leading soloists with the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Yerevan. In the Yerevan Opera he has performed the following roles: Ferrando in Verdi’s Il Trovatore, Ramphis in Verdi’s Aida, Avo in Babayev’s Artsvaberd, Zuniga in Bizet’s Carmen, Bazar Bashi in Harutyunyan’s Sayat Nova, Vasak in Chuyadzhyan’s Arshak II , Melik in Tigranyan’s David Bek, Kyohva in Tigranyan’s Anush, etc. Hayk's repertoire includes also such roles as Oroveso in Bellini’s Norma, Mazetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Old Gipsy in Rakhmaninoff’s Aleco, Don Basilio in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Colline in Puccini’s La Boheme, Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust.
He has performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra Kohar and in 2012 toured South America with this collective. In 2013 he performed at the Armenian soloists’ Gala Concert of the 21st Festival The Stars of the White Nights at St Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre.
He was awarded the Diploma from the Minister of Culture For Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Opera in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Armenia's Independence, the Certificate of South Korean National Radio For Outstanding Recording of National Korean Music, the Certificate of Appreciation of the Minister of Youth and Culture of Nagorno Karabakh For the Best Performance of Avo in the opera Artsvaberd.
