Jazeps Vitols International Piano Competition rescheduled to 2022

The organising committee of the Jazeps Vitols International Piano Competition announced today that the 2021 competition will be rescheduled to the autumn of 2022. The decision was made jointly by the organising committee, the administration of the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music and the Competition’s sponsors, after careful consideration of the ongoing uncertainties regarding travel and performance restrictions, and their likely extension into 2021.

The Jazeps Vitols International Piano Competition has gained recognition as a high-level culture event. Many of its prize winners established successful international careers and were motivated to persistently improve themselves in the art of piano playing. The competition pays tribute to Jazeps Vitols, whose heritage and creative life continue to inspire people in Latvia and abroad.

We want to preserve these traditions and make sure that all young artists who consider taking part in the next competition will have this opportunity.
